Best I can remember, these mags had a problem of the follower being a little short on the back end and not tripping the bolt catch when the last round was fired. The price on these dropped awhile back and caught my interest so I did a search on the "other" site and found this to be the issue so I then knew why the price had dropped on them - the venders were trying to move them out. I have no idea if this problem with the mags has been corrected. As far as my own experience, I have none with these mags. I decided not to buy any after I researched them.

    -2x the weight
    -prone to rust
-design never lived up to its hype in regard to reliability and durability

That's speaking to the HK brand-name variants, and forgetting either known-good USGI mag vendors or any of the known-good polymer variants available.

Presuming the knockoffs are able to match HK's adherence to their own design, what palpable benefit would you gain except having spent about 1/6 the money on a design of equal incapability to the HK?

The above is a fairly large presumption. To the point that, should it prove true...everybody gather around, because you're gonna want to spread the tale from crag to cliffside about the guy you saw with the monkeys flying out of his anus, and how angry and embarrassed I was.

    I own all 3 mags, Pmag/Emags/HK

HK mags are the best steel mag out there, are there feed lips bending or cracking on concrete when dropped free from the mag housing=no...

There are a lot of internet rumors out there that get exaggerated, the early HK mags were of older lower quality compared to HK mags of today.

That being said i love my EMags too if you are running 416 with lower receiver then Emags/HK mags are essential, but you guys down south are still waiting your MR556 rifles, if you are running other AR than it is not necessary, although they look great in gun pics if wanting a good ascetically pleasing steel black magazine! I have not used a steel mag out there that is better in any way yet, but really Magpuls magazines are the best for price, reliability, ruggedness etc

    I'm assuming Canada....

Have you run the HK mags with more than 5 rounds in them at a time and for long periods?

Having owned many iterations of steel/polymer/aluminium AR mags, the only mags I buy and use are PMAGs.

No reason to run anything else in an AR, unless you are mandated to or your weapon (HK 416) doesn't accept em.

A family member of mine had a couple; got them for $3.00 a piece (Coudn't say no to such a low price was his reasoning; got them at tanner from some mall ninja), he ended up smashing them at he range one day out of frustration. The followers tilted pretty bad, they are heavy as all hell, they didn't drop free from his franken-AR (Oly lower I believe, or RRA???), and he had problems getting the bolt catch to hold open with them. HE had more FTE's and FTF's that day then I have ever seen him have (HE has a lot, due to bad equipment choices...). They more usefull as targets than as magazines.

He bought four mags that wouldn't work for $12.00; when he could've gotten (1) Pmag 30, or (2) USGI 30's that WOULD have worked for the same price.

    Victory SA80=Epic Fail...

Get Pmags or USGI mags with Pmag followers. Screw Korea, buy American and buy with pride!

We interrupt this programme to bring you an important news bulletin: the suspect in the Happy Times All-Girl Glee Club slaying has fled the scene and has managed to elude the police. He is armed and dangerous, and has been spotted in the West Side area, armed with a meat cleaver in one hand and his genitals in the other...

They don't fit in RRA lowers, my buddy from the US has a RRA 10.5 AR and i gave him a Emags which works fine, but Hk and other mags don't work with their lowers from what i have seen or at least his, I guess they made there tolerances tighter, great rifle though RRA, like them a lot.

When the MR556 becomes available you will see the benefit of those HK steel mags, especially with the feeding pattern and in high round counts!
