Flash light mount for Marlin 1895 45-70

I want to use this gun for bear calls next summer and I want a light attached to it as well as a good optic. I have an optic rail and Ghost Ring sight set up on the way but I need a flash light mounting system. Preferably a rail that I can slide my X300 onto. Any one have any links.

There's a Laser/Light Mount from Wild West Guns. Hope you find what you're looking for!

^ First thing that came to mind. They are also "local" to you in Alaska.

Another option to think about is one of your AR-15s that you already have (well, assuming, since you're on this board) with a .50 Beowulf upper. If five doesn't end the threat, you can reload five more real quick instead of one at a time with a lever gun. Then again, if you have to reload the bear is probably already on you... And if he isn't he was probably far enough away in the start to not bother shooting at.

    Eh, just another option.

I already got this gun as a gift I want to deck it out. Nothing against the .50 Beowolf. But that is another gun and more money.

What about the Scout Mount by XS. If you stick with open peep sights an X300 would be mounted well for you.

I ordered the full rail from XS with their Ghost Ring sights. I do still want an optic mostly for low light. I had two bear shootings in low light last summer and on one of them I ended up using my patrol rifle with a Swarovski Z6i scope. The Ghost Rings on the shotgun while fine in the daylight were not that much use at night even with weapon lights being used.

I would address the question to Mr. Smith (Joe) at Superior Firearms. Joe is particularly passionate about Marlin lever guns, and has considerable experience setting up 1895s in railed configurations to accommodate optic/RDS/light configurations.

I second that vote, Mr. Smith does some sick work on lever guns...well any gun really, but lever guns.

Didn't see the photo display in the opening post the first time, but Joe built me this same rifle in .30-30 (336BL) a few months ago, and put an XS scout rail on it that would be just about ideal for your situation.

As mentioned, he sets them up like this all of the time.

A look through the "Lever Love" image gallery on his site should give you plenty of good ideas.
