Just a headsup: The Aimpoint Micro R-1 (H-1 with a silver stainless finish) is advertised in the Jan 2011 Midway flyer for $299.00.
The R-1 is functionally identical to the H-1 but comes in a silvery stainless steel finish.
(I have no interest in Midway or get nothing from people buying these -- just a heads up service. I don't even like MidwayUSA)

I would like to have one at that price but their online status shows:
Not available - One time run - Product is sold out and MidwayUSA is currently unable to obtain more. Products with this status were usually obtained through a one-time special buy. They cannot be backordered and may not be available again.
I just called them and they said they are expected to have these in stock in the next couple of weeks with the price being good until Jan 31.

Hmmm - nothing a little rattle can would not fix.
I've been thinking about getting a rail mounted on the top of my 870, and putting an H-1 or T-1 on it. The ~$500 price tag has held me back until now.

Very tempting. I was leaning more toward a compact ACOG to give something different a try. But at this price I may just revise that plan.

Same here. One of those new Arsenal 5.45 sidefolders has been calling my name as well. And seeing Jay's SBR'd AK did not help a bit.Great minds think a like.
