Any input on why the Weaver mount for these is 2/3 the price of the DD mount ($34 vs $55)? I know the Larue has a quick release, but the other two appear essentially identical.

I don't know why, but the R1 dot is working better with my astigmatic eye VS my ML3 (/w 2 MOA dot). At usable power on both, the R1 has little or no distortion and even appears (to my eye) to be slightly smaller.

I'll shoot mine before painting, but Rustoleum Satin Low Sheen (has outdoor furniture pic on the front) has worked very well on FAL parts as well as a Ishy No. 1 Mk III. (It's a very close match to Imbel Black and does not mind getting oily). Plus that's what I have on hand.

I don't have astigmatism but I've noticed the same thing. To get the 2 moa dot to be anywhere close to a 2 moa dot I have to turn it down so it's almost invisible. At usable power the bloom seems to be less defined.

Interesting. The mount for the Micro is $45, but I'm wondering about return to zero, and how loose that twist knob will get without constant scrutiny.

I have the DD mount at about the same price, which is solid but not QD. I have been pleased with the return to zero on my ADM mounts. But I only did that once, just as a test.

As Joe Civilian, the QD feature is not a necessity for me. But it's almost always good to see more people building new products.
