I have 2 on the way.
I'll be painting one OD Green I think, for my 870.

I painted one of the earlier H-1's with the shiny finish with tan krylon along with a DD mount and it's been pretty good so far, but the gun and optic haven't been through too much except in and out of the safe for a couple range trips.

Just got mine delivered. I can only see the dot on setting 7 and up. Is it defective?

Go into a dark room and try it on the lower settings..

Like other Aimpoints I'm sure they use the same switch in the R-1 as the T-1 which has NV capability. So you will not see the dot on the first few settings.
