    DD LW 14.5

I ran about 250 rds thru my new DD LW middy14.5 w/BC 1.5 yesterday..(only had an hour)
flawlessly, ...very impressed. Ammo was mixture of Fed. SP, PMC FMJ, and Wolf 55 FMJ. I just cleaned the packing lube out , and relubed with EWL Slip. I am running an H buffer, recoil impulse is super soft.
    Anyway, not FTF, FTE, nothing.

Likely it is the mag springs.

I am seeing a trend when it comes to middy's and there performance . Follow my thought process here. A middy is designed to shoot softer, which means the BCG does not travel as fast or as far back, generally speaking. So when you buddy uses the same mag in his Stag 16" (carbine) which is overgassed by nature since it is a 16" carbine the bolt is traveling farther back which allows the magazine to push the next round into position to be loaded.

With your middy, the weak magazine spring (likely cause as it is the eighth round and beyond) is not able to push the round into position before the BCG travels forward.

It is not that it is a pmag, it is a 20 round pmag which if I recall correctly Magpul did a recall on them for this very reason.

Just get some new springs for the mags and you should have no more problems. Also consider there is a break-in period for new firearms in which parts needs to wear together.

The problem I think this is, I've seen on my guns and others 16" middys and carbine gas is the gas rings on your bolt. 3 rings when 2 aline you loose presser. on new guns they are clean carbon free or some rings are looser then others. I've seen the problem go away with use and I had a S&W I put 1000 rounds threw never went away until I changed the rings. Its one of those things you'll let someone else shoot it no problem as soon as you shoot it it happens 4 out of 14 shots you'll blame every thing try everything it will go away and you'll forget it ever happened.

    parttard,

Since you are new, I'll give you a break. The alignment of the gas rings has ZERO effect on your weapon. Anyone who tells you otherwise doesn't know what they are talking about. It's an old wives tale.

That was one heck of a first post, especially since he has been a member for nearly 3 years. This, and breaking the username down, I am suspecting something smelly here.

i know, right? As funny as his username is and on top of his post, i can personally discredit this as Ive fired an M16 with only 2 gas rings and it didnt have any issues even in full auto.

Clearly, the problem is with the DD lower that the OP got from us.

Please send it back to us for a FULL refund (so that we can sell it for more money to folks that are craving a DD lower).
