With the standard recon, the rear bell is over the troy sight, but my nose is not next to the CH. If it was, then the rear of the scope would be too close to my eye. I only have about 1/3" space to move scope in mount before bumping scope into ring, and mount is all the way forward on upper, next to handguard rail.
A friend uses the X-recon, which I believe is similar to what Shootist uses. I'm just getting by, without nose to CH, but if I had to do it again, would probably get the X recon, for more flexibility. Would NOT get the S recon, as it has no cantilever at all.
