According to Trijicon, the EYE RELIEF for the TA33-8 is only 1.9". Only .4" better than a TA31...

Grant and others have commented that it is more like 2-3" of eye relief...

    Which is it?

    2-3 inches.

    Grant- call me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The compact ACOG in a carry handle is a very nice setup IMHO.

    Gents,

    I'm considering a TA33R-8 for this carbine

    Got a few questions:

    1. The above carbine has a 14.5 Noveske midlength bbl. Does the FSB will interfere with this scopes image? I dont want a small blurry shadow in my sight picture. I know that I'll have to remove the Larue BUIS and install a flip one (Troy) but I dont want to mess with the FSB. Any one here have firsthand experience with a midlength sight radius and the TA33R?

    2. I shoot mostly with both eyes open using irons and/or the Aimpoint. So, is it possible to easily focus the chevron reticle with both eyes open?

I really like the Aimpoint, but want to use it better with a LMT 10.5 upper I have. Also I think that some magnification will be of great benefit to "enhance" the capabilities of the Noveske SS bbl.

As always, any help will be greatly appreciated as I have no way to try for myself an acog locally.

PS. Grant, sorry for the hijack I guess my questions may help other members as well and dont wanted to start a new thread

On a carbine length upper, the FSB is virtually undetectable with the TA60 mount. I would imagine a mid-length should be no different.

Absolutely, it will be a little different than an Aimpoint, but you should be able to adapt very quickly. My g/f who has never shot anything other than irons and an Aimpoint was able to adapt to the ACOG in no time.

I am very happy with my TA33, I am willing to bet you would be too. As you stated I too think the magnification of the TA33 will take better advantage of the platforms capabilities.

I think that the TA33 is a good fit for that weapon.

We also just got a fresh batch of TA33R-8 in stock!

Is there a "kill flash" for the TA-33? or does it use the same one as the traditional compact ACOG?
