On my first range session with the C3, the battery compartment cap started to come unscrewed.
The strap helps hold the cap in place and, even if it does work loose, it helps keep it from getting lost.
You can order the strap as a replacement part. The M-series version fits the C3 fine, provided you also get the cover caps that have the attachment tabs.
