I didn't do anything to the rifle, and don't have any plans to. Some people alter or remove the gasket, I figure it's there for a reason.

I have heard of folks that remove the gasket just so that the Magpul mags will fit in them and drop free. Also heard the horror stories that people had to take the stock apart to get the p-mags out when they inserted a p-mag with gasket still installed. From what I understand it is to keep water, dirt, sand, gunk... out of the action which I am sure you know. But back on track, it is interesting to know these troy mags will fit in my fs2000, with a lil bit of muscle.

Does anyone know if these will drop free from an Hk 416?

Also, are these mags supposed to be more "EMag-ish"?

I would say these are not compatible with an FN2000.

Our department just got a couple of these in for T&E. Look good and insert and eject freely from our S&W M&P-15s. We plan to torture test these in the near future.

I got 2 of these just for the hell of it to check them out. I have been (and will continue to be ) a user of PMAGs.

As stated before these have a feature or two that are OK, but nothing that would make me switch.

I found the base plate rather ghey, even after swapping to the provided flat one. I think the profile of the mags is OK and the scales on the four edges are innovative, but the base is effin' tragic at best. Ill use them at the end of this month in class and see how they do.

Just got the 2 I ordered.
First short impression, subjectively: well...them ain't PMags, thats fer sure. Feeling almost flimsy compared to PMags, and there's considerably more play in the magwell (like, rattle) when inserted.
If this is a design feature so it will function w other platforms?

But as said, subjective first impression, because other than that objectively, they performed just fine.

Ran some 62 grn hp (WPA steel laquered) and SS109, no feeding problems.
Prefer ranger plates over the doohickey these have. On the other hand, they came out of the mag-pouch with considerably less resistance than PMags, making changes somewhat easier.
Not bad, but so far I am not running to replace my PMags.

yes the play is there so it can fit in some of the tight magwells in other weapons like SCARs that pmags have to be shaved in order to fit.

Spent some time mall ninjaing in the living room with the three troy mags I got. The pull tabs are real nice for getting the mag out of your rigs where pmags would fit tight in. The included pull tabs are nice to yank out the mags from your gear a little so you can get a better grip on them. If you dont like the pull tab you can put in the flat floorplate that is included

the reptile scales design on the mag is quite grippy when pulling out of a rig, much grippier than pmags. The texture is in the correct spots where the main contact points of your grip would be holding the mag, but smooth on teh side so its not aggressive all the time

Yes, PMags "rock" but there were obvious areas for improvement. My biggest concern with PMags is their lip around the floor plate. I have had difficulties using some M16 mag carriers and with the new troy design, it seems that this problem was addressed. Without innovation of designs that "rock" we would still be shooting old A1s.
