Are you guys loading 28 in the Pmags? I think I read somewhere that they worked or were supposed to work with 30?

Mine will seat and run with 30, but I keep them at 28.

I started with 28 - then went to 30. I've had 30 in for one month - and I have found its easier to load a PMAG with 30 on a closed bolt that it is to load a USGI or HK mag with 28 on the the closed bolt.

Rich and Co. designed them for 30 - and they seem to be working.

I have 16 windowed PMAG's here with more to come - no worries on them - but in the next few weeks as I get more PMAG's I will run over some windowed ones too - and HK and USGI just for viewing pleasure with an armored subby.

I would hope, and do believe, that Magpul took those ORPHAN two rounds into consideration when designing the PMAG... Much military 5.56mm ammo comes in 30 round boxes and three strippers in a bando pouch are also 30 rounds, so I hope we can finally move past the "28 round GI mags" design flaw.

Not a design flaw to load only 28 rounds, it's simply works regardless of whos 30 round mag you happen to have.

I'll load up my 30 round PMAGs with 30 rounds and leave them that way until next match and see if that makes the springs take a set. If it works as KevinB says (which I'm sure it will) then the PMAGs will replace the HK mags that I use for competition only. I use HKs only because they seat with 30 rounds on a closed bolt.

Thank God for the Pmags. I'm sick of the 28v30 debate.

Someone didn't seat a mag fully in a drill and it was discovered that downloading to 28 WILL without a doubt solve that problem. Now it's the thing to do.

I first saw it come up 2.5 years ago and it went away. Then it came back up and it seemed on here that everyone was doing it. I trusted what people on here were doing versus the back and forth at other places.

It's still stupid though. I don't have problems and mine are all loaded to 30 regardless of make or model. Well, except for the 20s I have...

I received my 5 PMags yesterday (non-windowed). Man they are awesome. I can see why everybody likes them so much. I'm gonna try to get to the range for a test fire in the next week or so. They are a little tight, though, they don't drop free. I suppose I can sand them a little bit, yes?

What brand is your lower? I am thinking that your magwell might be out of spec.
