    New Bushmaster ORC .308

Talk me out of getting one. Getting tired of waiting on RFB and about to buy one of these.

Information will be on the following web site soon I think.

It's hard to argue about the price versus performance ratio, the ORC is a bargain after it's been tuned up a bit.

If you're also thinking RFB, I just can't guess what your parameters are. If I had to buy a SA 308 right now, it would be an LMT FWIW.

If it didnt have that ugly forward assist and the DPMS style roundback upper I might get one.

I like the style of the AR-10 upper and the mag type of the DPMS/KAC lower

Therefore I got the LMT, for the price and performance it can't be beat.

I almost got a Ar-10, but I decided to save and get the rifle I wanted instead of settling for a rifle I would hate in 6 months.

    Good luck

If you're looking at one of the $800 ones, you can't really go wrong. It's just a DPMS LR-308 with a new rollmark.

Just don't forget to add an o-ring aroundthe extractor spring and consider swapping out the stock assembly to an Armalite for enhanced reliability.

Swap the upper to a Fulton Armory one for use with a DD Lite rail and shave the gas block and you'll have a damn fine rifle for not a whole lot of money.

I still want a RFB. Im not paying 1600 for one.

I could get the 800 ORC + the RFB for what the LMT cost. I hjust cant justify it.

The orc looks like it cant be beat for cost. Its a DPMS with a A3ish upper, chrome lined, and middy.

I'm not looking to hemerage money. I want a fun .308 SA that I can hunt and plink with.

What kind of RE does it have?? Can you use normal stocks on it?

It has a commercial diameter AR15 tube with DPMS's funky stubby buffer system.

According to some, it benefits from being swapped out to an AR10 length tube w/ Armalite Spring & H3 buffer.
