OK, guys. This is why I come to you guys not arfcom. NO OFFENSE TO ANYONE, but I have just seen a different type of professional here. I am very impressed indeed and have a high value for the opinions here regarding the AR15 platform.

So, I went ahead and ordered the complete BCM 16" m4 upper w/ 1:7 twist barrel. I already had the BCM m16 bcg on order and it will be here soon. I will just sell the DPMS upper after receiving it.

Now, with a BCM complete upper w/ 16" 1:7 twist barrel AND DPMS lower, have I accomplished my goal? Am I good to go with a DPMS lower? My pocket book is really hoping so, but this time I am doing everything right once. All input is appreciated.

The lower is just a housing. So as long as it is in spec and everything works you'll be fine.

Some may recommend upgrading the LPK for reasons they've experienced themselves as a search here on M4C will turn up. But as Iraqgunz stated above: "So as long as it is in spec and everything works you'll be fine."

    awesome

Walter, you have made an excellent choice and will have many happy rounds downrange. Just make sure as IG stated that the lower is in spec and the parts are of good quality. If you feel your LPK is lacking, Grant at G&R has a hand picked LPK made from varied quality manuf. for sale.

You went with a carbine-length gas system, so you may want to invest in an H or H2 buffer. Other than that, you're good to go.

Be careful when you're buying stocks in the future as you have a commercial-spec receiver extension, not a mil-spec one.

I took down a DPMS lower I bought during the "Preban scare" and found the ext. tube was a milspec version. I bought the rifle complete so no one messed with it but me. I bought a commercial t6 stock and when I pulled the old off I noticed it. Check your ext. you may also have a mil spec tube.

No, guys I have a commercial buffer tube. I already have the VLTOR EMOD on it which is how I found out. Don't tell me running a commercial tube is gonna be an issue. I can't see how, but go ahead and let me know the deal. Thanks.

    It's fine for most purposes.

EDIT: Actually, let me amend this. What is your purpose for this carbine? Is it a duty rifle?

No, not a duty rifle per se. I would like it to be "duty worthy" if you will. It is supposed to be a serious rifle ready for home defense, hunts, extreme versatility, training with pushing it to the limits, plinking, ect. I also am a survivalist of sorts (self proclaimed) so equipment is always something to think about. I want something anyone here would say "man I'd bet my life on that rifle if I needed to." I just didn't feel comfortable with a "bubba gun" to tell you the truth. It was bothering me. Thanks.
