Vertical shift would be the most ideal IMHO.

My M4-1000 has negligible POI shift. 1" high at 100 yards on an M4 profile/length barrel.

AAC is really the best bang for the buck. And M4-1000 will suit you fine if you're not dumping mag fulls of ammo through it. If money isn't an issue the mounting system is better on the 2000... although I've never had any problems with my 1000.

You might wait to see how the AAC Mini4 will perform. It's itty-bitty.

M4-S itty bitty? 'Cause I'd love a small can like that for an SBR.

Another important thing to remember is that decibels are a logarithmic function. The math works out to a roughly 2x increase in perceived loudness for every 10db. Thus a 30db reduction from 160db is not a mere 1/5th to 1/6th reduction, but more like a reduction to 1/6th as loud as the original.

This of course is dependent on an individual's own existing hearing capabilities or loss.

Umm, if I recall my math courses, 3dB ~ 2x the sound pressure level, no?

You are correct, but I was talking about perceived loudness which is not the same as the actual change in pressure level.

Your statement is more useful when talking about hearing loss, mine when discussing how quiet a suppressor 'sounds'. I guess we don't know what the original statement was in reference to.
