I have been carrying Kershaw blades for several years now. I have had experience with Gerber, Spyderco and Smith and Wesson.

    I regularly carry this knife.

I love the small size and the quality of the blade. It is easy to use and normally folks don't wig out when you use it to open a box in the office.

I also use this knife on occasion

It tends to be a bit large in the pocket and in the hand for everyday use, but it is very durable, and had never unlocked or failed me in any way.

I was able to pick both up for less than 70 bucks at local stores.
I am not an expert, nor do I play one on the internet.

For $70 the Spyderco Manix 2 is a mean slicer, great retention, ball bearing lock and is super ergonomic and stout.

For that price range I would probably look for VG10 steel. It has amazing sharpness out of the box (accidentally nicked myself twice the other day with my new Spyderco Endura 4 FFG and it bled, a lot) and very impressive edge retention. And the Endura 4 has jimping!

Another good reason not to spend too much money on a knife.

Although I never let something like reason stop me from spending more then I needed on a knife.

Carried a Cold Steel Tanto Gunsite II for several years on duty, used and abused it. Then a Buck 297 assisted folder, like that knife alot. Now my EDC is a Spyderco Endura with serrations. I too would like one without the serrations, but it was a good buy at the time, picked up 2. The Kershaw Blur is a stout knife for the money, cant go wrong I would think. That said, I want a Zero Tolerance next time.

+1 for Benchmade Griptilian/Mini-Griptilian. The handle shape is awsome and I love that Axis Lock.

I have carried one for about a year in a tip down position and use it pretty much once a day, and have yet to sharpen it. It is still extremely sharp and it has been put through some rough stuff.

It is really lightweight, extremely fast and easy to open, and you can't go wrong with the textured rubber grip.
Here's a link to that knife, on sale for half off MSRP:

I agree, I am a fan of the Blur, and EDC'd one for several years.

    More Kershaw on clearance:

Leek for $30, instead of $70 MSRP:

Zing on sale for $25, instead of $65 MSRP:

I would take the Blur they have on sale over either of these. It's a pretty good deal at $50.
