Dvorak Pistol Conversions Simulator - Training w/your own Weapon/Trigger

After reading about the SIRT pistol, I recalled there had been a company that did conversions of pistols using compressed gas.

Has anyone tried one whether in military or LEO?

I see it was discussed here briefly.

    https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=36346

If you read the pdf, it just seems that this would be a great training aid for the civilian shooter on their own firearm.

    Some selected text

"• Each system is designed to quickly drop into place without special tools and
to convert a regular firearm into an effective training weapon, which does not
    use ammunition.
    • Using compressed gas instead of ammo gives the opportunity to fire a large
number of simulated rounds at a negligible cost.
    • After a training session, the entire assembly can be quickly removed from the
handgun or machine gun, making the weapon available for use with live
    ammunition.
    • Trigger is not altered in any way so shooter can practice with the actual
    weapon trigger.
    • Mechanism operates at correct cyclic rate while producing noticeable recoil."

I spent a lot of time with Meggitt at a trade show last year. IIRC these are meant to work with their projection-screen training systems.

Not necessarily? From their website it appears they have two different firearm simulators.

One that interacts with their projection system which looks like their Bluefire Weapons. See link and video below.

    http://www.meggitttrainingsystems.co...uefire_Weapons

The other appears to be the Dvorak line which is produced by Dvorak Instruments.

    http://www.meggitttrainingsystems.com/main.php?id=119

"Dvorak kits differ from standard simulator weapons in that they provide recoil, but are not electronically connected to the system. Dvorak weapons will recoil as long as the gas supply lasts. They will not lock back the bolt/slide when the weapon would normally be out of ammo."

    These are produced from:

Click "Other Products" or for the direct link without the frame:

Now that I read Dvorak's page directly, they must sell to different distributors AIS and Meggitt. I wonder if they sell to the general public.

It looks like the Bluefire gun is Meggitt's own creation or adaptation but Dvorak instruments seems to be a standalone.

I could also swear I have seen these pistol conversions on other law enforcement provider's website.

This Dvorak conversion would seem a fantastic option if you wanted to work with your own firearm, get use to your own trigger in various positions, and have simulation of recoil.

Some agency out there have had to try these.

I have the Dvorak (pictured above) kit for a Glock 22 and (2) Eli kits (similar) for a Glock 17 and a M16A1 & variants. I'm on the road now but tomorrow when I am in the office I will post more info. Thanks!

Hello. I am new here (mostly a Colt/S&W guy) but it's nice to see some interest about these training systems. I'll tell you what I know.

The Dvorak system for the Glock 22 I have is sold by Meggitt for $2,500 per my conversations with Chuck Oblich the Law Enforcement Sales Account Manager at Meggitt Training Systems.

It interacts with their XVT Law Enforcement system using the laser. The system I have is complete minus the laser attachment. Dvorak Instruments quoted me $200 for the laser unit. The laser unit is powered by watch batteries and screws into the dummy barrel end of the unit. The system works 100% as designed for recoil simulation without the laser unit. I tested my unit with a CO2 cartridge and it works well. Overall it is very well built - soild, machined from bar stock. It would make a great training tool for trigger, draw, close quarters practice.

    Please see the pictures:

    Laser unit:

The Eli units are slightly different. Please see a better picture of these units:

They work on the same principle as the Dvorak system only they use rechargable CO2 pressure tanks that fit inside the actual magazine of the weapon. VERY cool. I have been in contact with Eli recently about my systems. Gerry Saarep is their sales director. He informed me that these were imported into the USA by LaserShot Inc, TX. Eli is located in Tallinn, Estonia.

Please see Eli's site and sample videos below:

I have some PDF's of product doumentation for both the Glock 17 system as well as the M16A1 / AR variant system that I can send to any interested persons.

The kits I have are unique in that they were some of the first production models made. The Glock 17 kit barrel is serial 007 and the CO2 tanks are 019, 020, 021. The M16A1 / AR variant system is serial 221 and the tank is serial 521.

These ARE NOT TOYS they are very high quality military grade units designed for serious training use.

These systems would be great for the at home user as well as the seasoned law enforcement professional, operator or competition shooter. Perfect for use at a work OR home practice situation to improve your skills and reaction times!

I know this is not the place for classifieds but I am looking to part with all of these systems for very reasonable offers or trades.

Please contact me here via this thread or in PM for additional info. or questions or at:

I guess there is no interest in these type of training systems?
