    Called Aimpoint

I bought one off gunbroker.com got paranoid and called Aimpoint. They say that they have yet to see a counterfeit H-1, or T-1.

The easiest way to spot fake T-1/H-1s are the adjustment know covers, if they aren't more or less flush with the body of the optic, it's a fake. For example.

All of the fake T-1s I have seen have taller than normal adjustment covers, my guess is the Chinese can't figure out how to make them low-pro enough without blocking the reddot inside.

You can also email Aimpoint and they can confirm that the unit has a real serial number.

Right. How has anyone that's been around a while not seen a fake EOtech or Aimpoint? If someone selling these devices haven't seen a forgery they are either lying or have no idea of the product they are selling and in either case not someone I would like to purchase from.

I emailed aimpoint and my serial number came back good. Returned my email the same day. It's worth paying a few extra dollars for not only quality, but service too.

    .

An Aimpoint rep, at the NRA Show this year, told me another way to ID a counterfeit, is the adjustment knob does not have a max/min stop. It just turns a full 360.

Do you have a lead on a unit for $425? I just bought one for $475, and it's the best deal I could find in a couple weeks of watching. I'd buy another at $425
