Seems like I need to order a x300 soon.![]()
Grant, what have you come up with for a 12 o'clock mounting solution, assuming the use of a standard FSB?

Do the Surefire long gun backplates accept Insight Tech switches? I think the right angle plugs (as used on the M3X long gun model) would be more accomodating for a 12 oclock mount.
Great thread. I was thinking of getting either a Surefire M951XM07 or using my Blackhawk Gladius in a SF mount and attach it to my LMT MRP with a 10.5" barrel but they both seem "too big and out of place" on a short compact weapon. I also have a X200A and it seemed compact enough but the light output was so-so.
But then after reading this thread and another one on this forum ( https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread...highlight=x300 ), the X300 looks like the right light for me.
I had initially planned to mount it on the MRP's bottom rail and never really considered the top rail to be an option. I am running an Aimpoint ML3 on a Larue standard mount and I'm still waiting for my Troy front sight to arrive. If I mount the X300 right behind the Troy front sight, will the light beam clear the folded front sight? Does anyone have pics of a similar setup that I am planning? Thanks.

Allan,
Mounting the X300 behind a flip-up, fixed, or other front sight systems on the 12 o'clock rail will defeat any of the benefits of mounting a light at the 12 o'clock position. If you need your front sight, it will be directly in the way of your light, and if you need to illuminate something, the light will reflect off the front sight back into your face. If you need to remove the X300, you will first need to remove the front sight. Either find a way to mount the X300 in-front of the front sight, or mount it at the 6 o'clock position.
I'm going to build up my 10" LMT very similarly to the Colt above that I assembled for a friend. When using the Aimpoint you can see just a tiny bit of the battery latch on the X200. When you go all the way down on the stock and align the sights none of the X200 is in the sight picture. It does give you essentially the sight radius of a 7.5" barrel, but it doesn't really matter since the sights are just there for backups anyway.

One of my guys showed me his new X300 tonight. I compared it to my X200B.
THE 300 BLOWS THE 200 AWAY.
I'm calling Grant up tomorrow to order one.
Grant can you give me a price on the x300. Thanks
