    Sidewinder charging handle

RAR guns just released their new charging handle. I know the owner Anthony, he's a straight up great guy thats made some really nice AR's. I know he's been working on the sidewinder for some time now. It looks like a hell of a lot better design than other side charging handle set ups I've seen. A big plus is no mods to the upper.

I haven't tried it yet so no first hand knowledge but it looks to be a straight forward design.

I still don't like the fact that you have to move your head to charge the rifle.

This completely misses the intent of a side-charging handle. I considered drawing up this exact in CAD long ago, but then I realized how ridiculous it was.

I'm not sure how this product offers any great advantage over other products on the market priced at $150.

The good thing for the manufacturer is that it doesn't have to work well (though I'm not saying it doesn't) or be practical, it just has to sell. I can definitely see a market for it.

Seems like a great way to add even more torque to the charging handle making it even more likely to bind in the upper.

    Never go Full Retard...

Holy $hit a $150 charging handle? Does it charge itself for that price?
Anyone who spends $150-$180 for a charging handle is an idiot.

Thousands of rounds shot and still haven't broken a standard charging handle.

I'd bag on this everytime - a video is giving a face and personality to your company - don't let it say "cheap and thrown together with little to no planning". There's affordable options out there to make a good video. Then there's me - and I'll make you look amazing.

Good grief - the thing's ugly as sin. Looks like an unfinished erector set hanging off the rifle. No finished machining to speak of.
If youre going to do it, do it right. Bleh.
