That looks kinda GAY! It's a bad imitation of the LAR. A true side charging handle upper. Rob, have you reviewed that upper yet?

My lefty friend bought and assembled one recently. I had the chance to shoot it yesterday and I was impressed. The side CH was very fast on reload - a slight pull to rear or nudge forward releases an locked open bolt. The only nuisance was manually locking the bolt back - a small lever is exposed on the left side. It would take some getting used to. Otherwise, I say the side CH is a good choice, for lefties or those that struggle with a traditional CH. Check it out here.

This thread proves the hypothesis I developed after going to a gun show this weekend:

"AR15s are the adult version of the erector set, and a large portion of those who purchase them do so just to tinker with them and make them "look cool"."

Obviously this site is a counter point to my thoughts, but I still don't think it changes the overall demographic of the AR market. I would put money on the fact that there will be people that buy this thing, and in droves.

The designer clearly needs to be reminded that there is porn on the internet. If someone had stepped in and reminded him, this design may not have seen the light of day.

The Bubba crowd will be all over this. This device will be a huge hit at gun shows nation wide.

It's hideous an unnecessary, especially now that that GF charging handles are out and plenty big enough to manipulate.

    I'll pass...

Absolutely. Not knocking anyone here, but in a few of the first 7 posts when some believed Rob was reviewing this, there was some interest. The moment it's announced it was a joke, we stopped seeing that.

I'm all for new products, but some take it too far. Having not fired the gun yet is a testament to this being much more about tinkering that efficiency. When I saw the first thread a few weeks back it just seemed like someone trying too hard to break into the industry without weighing the pros and cons of the product they'd like to offer.

No doubt that we'll unfortunately see some of these in AR pic threads - if they actually make it to production.

agree 100%. The more ignorant and stupid it is, the better it will sell for people of that ilk.

Of course you can tell who they are trying to sell it too...i mean dont bubbas go out to the woods with rifles WITHOUT sights and shoot at the ground (so as not to cause ricochet..LOL)

Speaking of mall ninjas, he forgot to mention in his video that when this thing breaks, you then have the perfect ninja push dagger to thrust into your enemy's throat!

In that video of him in the woods shooting, given he has a 303 area code, I would bet it is the South Platte area. It looks just like it. My family goes camping there all the time and so do a lot of folks. Also the Colorado Trail runs right though the area. Not the best place to be shooting a rifle.
