so all i see is a product design that has more pinch points created from the functioning of charging your weapon.and isnt the main hill charging handle designers have is the breaking of the handle itself from repititous use, atleast with normally handle you are relatively doing the same move, with this new handle i can see how charging your weapon will vary each and everytime, and im talking about the interior mechanics of the handle itself, with all those different angles incorporated into the design to make it feasible to have it "side charging", the inventor just created a ton of possible malfuntion points. If im way off, please correct me if im wrong, but i am not a designer myself or an expert, but im just putting out my .02

If you notice during the video, he missed the handle a couple of times when attempting to charge it.

I can admire the effort put into the creation of any new product, but the general idea and execution are lacking on this one.

His reply to my post above

We're taking it out for some serious field testing on Sunday. I don't foresee any problems. It's already been cycled around 1000 times by myself, my partner, my family and all the people who have seen it. I think you made a good point about using it without a BAD Lever. I tried it and it's not hard at all. The handle in the production model is spring loaded so it won't pop out on it's own. It only weighs a few ounces. I'll get exact weight tomorrow. Gloves are not a problem at all.

Don't shoot the messenger. I've had some interaction with Anthony and he is a great guy. He seems to be the type of person who's always tinkering with things. I know he would appreciate everyone's honest opinion and input here. I completely understand all the points made and they make sense.

I was surprised by the price on the sidewinder also. He quoted me a price on a complete lower, magpul moe stock, grip and trigger guard, mil-spec parts and receiver extension almost the same price as the total sum of just the parts.

Myself , I'm broke and very Dutch , I like my BCM mod 4 just fine. I think I'll stick with it.

Give him some credit, this thing has already undergone the rigorous testing of being cycled "about a thousand times". I think that speaks for itself.

I wonder how well the moving parts hold up and issues of snagging on gear?

I look forward to the review. Seems like an interesting concept.

    Jesus Christ people?

What the **** is so hard about working a standard charging handle?

But then, it is made in America for Americans....and it makes a light saber sound when you work it.

But they haven't shot it yet, but no worries.

Looks interesting. Can't wait to see the review. However, $124 is a bit on the high side for a CH in my opinion. I know a lot of people do not use the Gas Buster and will simply deal with the blowback when running suppressed because of the cost. Especially when high-temp silicone works wonders.

Anyway, it looks interesting to say the least. I have a few questions for rob_s:

    1. When pulling the CH to the rear, does the CH get torqued to the right side of the rifle?
    2. How likely is the handle to get caught on tactical gear, etc?
    3. How easy is it to flip the little handle (grip) out to grab and cycle the weapon? At about 1:45, he fumbles with the little handle.
    4. Is the new CH smooth and as easy to operate when compared to the Gunfighter, etc?
    5. What is the quality of the CH and reliability, etc?

I'm sure rob_s was already planning to cover these topics, but I thought i would ask anyway.
