    Lower Forging Dimensions

I found some prints for machining a lower, but at first glance there wasn't enough dimensions to draw the part in Inventor. I slapped myself on the head when I realized the outer features came from the forging die. Does anyone know where I can find a print of a raw lower forging or a drawing in .ipt format? I'd like to try and draw it myself in Inventor.

Why don't you just machine from a forging?

If Inventor will let you import an .IGS file you can find a1, a2, and a3 lowers here http://www.cncguns.com/downloads.html

I imported them into solidworks and they are quality drawings. You may have to work a little import mojo in order to get defined individual features that can be dim'd. I could not get solidworks to break out the features so the model is one large un-editable feature.

ETA: or you could simply download the full blueprints that they also have available and draw it yourself. Which to me is the fun way to do it.

    Good Luck
