Follow the money. It's always about the money.
"You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline - it helps if you have some kind of football team, or some nuclear weapons, but in the very least you need a beer."
— Frank Zappa
If the gun goes dry I use my knife. If the knife breaks off I use my teeth. I have only one rule - Start one job and see it through - The universe will have to offer someone else the leftovers. Multi tasking doesn't work in business or in gunfighting.
- Michael de Bethencourt
I could not have been more pleased to hear that Mr. Davis was released. I hope he is soon back on American soil, and reunited with his family.
I am quite curious as to who paid the 2.34 million dollars in "blood money". SecState says the US government did not pay it.
No tinfoil here at all, but it sounds like something Ross Perot would do. He is very supportive and generous towards our military, especially the folks in Special Operations. A big tip of the hat, if it was him.
I wish Mr. Davis good luck in his new career. His days of blending into the background appear to be over.
We don't pay a lot of people - terrorist included.![]()
I'm being sarcastic by the way with the smiley :P
The gov isn't going to take credit for paying off people since it would endanger lives in the future. Same as when we pay off terrorist, it's usually done through a proxy as was probably done in this case.

I understand too is an adverb and to is a preposition, I still prefer using to in place of too.
The way I see it I'll save maybe 5-10 minutes over my lifetime not typing that extra o at the end of to. Even typing up this explanation saves me more time than typing that extra o
Cheers,
Mr. Smiles
Note to self: When traveling to a hostile country, have 2 million+ USD laying around just in case.
Glad he got out safe.
