    rimfire scope help

Hi. I am looking for a scope for a 10/22. I like the mueller 4.5-14x40APV, but I read somewhere that there was a similar scope sold by a vendor on here. I have tried the search feature with no luck. Any input would be appreciated.

    What's your intended use?

Muellers are good bang for the buck and usually have adjustable parallax, which is nice for rimfires. You might also consider Leupy's 3-9x33 EFR rimfire scope, which is optically cleaner than the Meuller and not much more money.

If you want a crazy benchrest rimfire on a budget, consider a fixed power scope. Weaver (yes, Weaver!) makes some decent ones that are clear, track repeatably, and won't break the bank.

If you're hunting and don't want much magnification, consider a Vortex low power variable or a 1x red dot. Primary Arms is a popular budget optic, but for the same money you can get an Ultra Dot, which IMHO is far superior (it just doesn't look tacticool).

I agree with the other poster why so much magnification? I have a Leupold 1.5-5x Vari X II on my Winchester 320 .22 long rifle bolt gun. I used to have a cheaper 3x9 but found it was too much magnification for most things I use a .22 for. A red dot is also an excellent choice and I have an Aimpoint ML2 on my Spikes 22 AR.

I already have a 10/22 with a 3-9x40. This is going on a 10/22 w/ hogue overmold, bipod, and heavy bull barrel. I need more magnification to see the small targets at longer ranges. I am open to a fixed magnification.

Well in that case. I really like Bushnell scopes for budget guns. They have nice clear optics.

I just pushed the button on this http://www.opticsplanet.net/tasco-wo...0-reticle.html right before I seen the varmit scope under it. I got it with the mildot. Hopefully it doesn't suck too bad.

That's a very nice 10/22. If this scope sucks I will get rid of it and get a mueller.

It is a sub $100 scope I would not hope for much.

It's a $150 10/22 I'm not hoping for much other than hitting targets. I get by with the $60 bushnell just fine on my other 10/22. If this scope doesn't atleast match up to the bushnell I will shitcan it.
