    Pistol class suggestions

I am looking for a good pistol class/instructor. I live in Louisiana and am willing to fly to TX and or TN, possibly So FL.

I've been to multiple training classes and shoot 3gun comp, so I'm looking for an advanced class. I'm interested in reactive type shooting exercises, one-hand, off-hand, non-dominant eye, switching hands and of course, all the malfunction clearing I can stand.

    Any suggestions? Thanks

I'll be going to the Tiger Valley Handgun II class in April. From what I hear, you get ALOT of trigger time and even get some training in room clearing. TJ Pilling is the instructor and I've heard nothing but good things about him...I'm really looking forward to this class.

Another "school" I can recommend is MAST Solutions out here in Houston. They are still getting the schedule worked out, but I've been to several classes and know the instructors personally. Matthew Brockmann is the owner/head instructor and he always has something different for each class. They are more than good to go.

What other training classes have you been to?

For what you're interested in, have you trained with Bill Rogers yet?

    Class

See if Kyle Defoor has anything in your area. He's booking through Grey Group now days. Looks like in the Moyock area. Or Check Jason Falla with Redback One. Both have very good classes. I think Luis "Looey" Ginez may be working with Jason.

Tiger McKee's Shoot Rite school is in Alabama. Check it out.

    Tiger is a skilled instructor.

Southern Exposure, in Florida, hosts classes from a number of itinerant firearms trainers. Randy Cain teaches there frequently and I recommend him highly.

    www.vatagroup.net.

They are located in Covington, LA. I've taken one of their classes and as far as i'm concerned, they are good to go. Both instructors have extensive resumes.

They were also featured on Tom Greshams' Guntalk TV. Look up the ar-15 episode. http://www.youtube.com/user/GunTalkTV

Their facility sits on an 1100 acre plot of land.

I haven't been to Rogers yet, but I hear from those that have it's a great way to test if you're really as good as you think you are. I look forward to attending and my goal for the year is to work up my handgun skills to where I feel at least passably confident to attend and not leave halfway through!

    Check these guys out.

Also known as GrayGuns, but recently have consolidated as Opspec.
My personal experience taking the advanced operator course was these guys are the real deal. GTG!
The advanced Pistol Operator class, 3 day class, covered all you asked for, very intense but big fun.

Thanks. I shot them an email. I had no idea they were in my back yard! I've asked locally and no one has recommended them. I will give them a try.

My word. I'm in Mandeville and had no idea about these guys. Amac, would you mind letting me know what they say. I'm in for pistol training as well but I have a really tight schedule. Were you thinking pistol 1 or 2?
