I thought "paralax free" meant the paralax or the appearance of will not affect poi. the bullet goes where the dot is. Good stuff, because I was under the impression that paralax wasn't an issue with aimpoints at all. I have eotechs, and I can notice paralax (dot moves when I move head side to side), but seems to hit where the dot is no matter where my head is. The shortest distance I've shot with them is 25 yards.
Yeah, parallax effect exists on EOs, too.
Like many things, "parallax free" is a statement of relativity. It's not a lie or any other attempt to deceive.
Compared to other, similar devices made with poorer glass or less attention to how that glass is shaped, or to magnified optics, etc., they're as parallax-free as one can expect to get when looking through a medium AND through the light projected on its surface.
Contractor scum, AAV
This may be a little off topic, but can someone explain what a paralex setting of 100 yrds is? Does that mean that anything under will be affected by paralax? I have a super cheap bushnell scope on a 22 and it has a paralax setting of 100 yrds (whatever that means) but it seems accurate even at shorter distances. Is this whole paralax thing a nit pick or is it a serious issue? Sorry if I sound ignorant, but I am when it comes to paralax, well optics in general.
