My 590A1SPX enjoys the taste of Nobel Sport. Then again, it'll eat anything...

I didn't ask my original question very clearly.

Though the discussion has tended towards inexpensive range ammo, and has been helpful, my original interest was actually cost-effective defensive ammo to buy a quantity of to keep on hand "just in case." Not looking for cheap stuff, just a good value on quality stuff.

Great - I was looking at the same ammo elsewhere for more money.

That's the 8 pellet load. With the Flitecontrol there's no reason to give up a pellet, they both pattern extremely well.

I bought the LE12700 (9 pellet "High Power"), should I have gone with the low recoil load? It's not that I like recoil, I was reluctant to give up muzzle velocity. Thoughts?

I prefer the low recoil through a pump for sure.
Low recoil gives me better muzzle control, recover time is shortened so follow up shots are faster. Training times can be extended also.
Shotgun training is brutal enough on the body, no need to make it worse.

Yeah, for training or other high round-count shooting, I would definitely opt for the low recoil loads. For "just in case" ammo, I was torn.

Either will do, the low recoil's just a little easier to get back on target. Some of the newer Benelli's can hiccup with low recoil, especially when they're new, although the older one's ran fine with it for us.

Fed Tactical w/ FliteControl 00. I use the reduced load for training and the full power stuff for home load. 2 3/4" only.

I've had decent patterns out of some odd stuff though. The Estate stuff patterns well enough for cheap ammo (cheap when I bought it anyway, haven't bought it in a while) and the Remington green box 00 patterns ok too for some reason. I recommend trying several different loads through your weapon and see what it likes. You might get lucky and find something cheap patterns well enough for your liking.
