So "the look" and price of the FSC aside, is there any substantial difference from the Vltor?

Excellent. I picked a VC-1 up several months ago for this purpose. I'd be heartbroken if it turned out I couldn't use it for that. Thanks for your very prompt reply.

Heartbroken is buying a G5 because you saw an Vltor comp at SHOT that had G5 mounting lugs only to find out that Vltor will not be making them. Now I'm left with an expensive barrel weight.

Ouch. Any idea if the Vltor is compatible with the AAC Omni? I'm not sure what else is out there for A2 compatible 5.56 suppressors from companies other than Gemtech and AAC.
