Need help with BUIS on Eotech 557 with maginifier

Hey guys! This is my current setup and obviously I need a BUIS to squeeze under that magnifier. Anyone using this setup that has any suggestions? Pics would be a great help to me in making a decision. Also likes and dislikes of the low profile BUIS you are using. One more thing is it will have to work with original front sight post, not a folding front sight. I dont know if that even matters. Anyway here is what I got, thanks in advance for suggestions and help![IMG][/IMG]

    Why do you need BUIS?

I got suckered into buying the MPO kit with the 4x FTS magnifier before I knew any better. I could never fit any flip up sight under that setup and never ran with one. I eventually ditched the magnifier and ran a fixed rear sight with a permanent co-witness with my 557.

Troy works fine. I assume you have an F-marked FSB. If not, you'll need a taller front sight post. You'll have to move the RDS and magnifier forward on the rail a little. Since your 557 and G23FTS are on a 7 mm riser, you won't have any trouble fitting most rear sights under the magnifier. Note that you will co-witness in the lower 1/3 of the RDS.

Another option would be an A.R.M.S. 40L, although most consider the Troy to be a better sight.

I dont think the troy will fit in the space that he has available. He would need to shift his whole set up one slot forward.

I ran into the same issue with the optics ive been using lately.

I prefer the 1/3 co-witness which is what I have when Im not using the magnifier. I agree that I shouldnt have any troulbe height wise with any of the low profile sights. My concern is that I only have the one notch left on the rail. The HWS cant go forward any further. I guess my concern would be the length of the BUIS.

I don't want to sound like a douchebag, but what's the intended purpose of this rifle? If you plan on using it as a duty rifle or for any other kind of daily use, I could understand the desire for a BUIS. I'd even call it a necessity. But if you only want to take it to the range on weekends and enjoy shooting for the sake of shooting, then I'd say save your money I'd put that cash towards some ammo. Unless you absolutely beat the hell out of that EOTech, you won't have any issues. I ditched the magnifier for various reasons, but the actual 557 from the MPO setup has run flawlessly.

I picked up two sets of the Magpul MBUS' and apart from zeroing them, I have never used them on my personal rifles. I got so caught up in the "possibility" of having to use them that I lost sight of why I even go to the range in my off time.

This is just my .02 bro. YMMV and all that happy shit, but unless you plan on abusing the hell out of your rifle and depending on it day in and day out for staying alive, I'd rather just focus on taking it out and shooting the shit out of it instead of buying a sight that you will more than likely never use.

If you're dead set on a BUIS, hopefully someone else can help you out. I could never get one to fit under the magnifier and still agree with the eye relief.

BTW, thanks for the reply and the help. Im not sure what you mean about the front sight post being F marked? Sorry for the novice questions. I can post a pic of the front sight if that would help.

Thanks for the input bro. Im not worried about it fitting under the sight as much as behind the sight. I cant move things any further forward. Is that the same problem your refurring to?
BTW, thought about ditching the magnifier too. Its flawless, I just dont use it that often. Not that I NEED a BUIS, just would like to make the rifle complete.

you understand my problem perfectly. I cant shift things any further forward. I guess I need a sight that only requires one rail to attach too and doesnt occupy any space forward of the rail it attaches too.
