Its true. There is a different hue to both of them. I noticed that before also.
They are different.
T1s are optimized for use with Night Vision Devices. There are other minor differences, such as a greater maximum submersible depth, but unless you own any NVDs and actually need no-light capability, just get an H-1 and spend the money you saved on a nice mount for it. I believe hunting at night is illegal in most states anyways, so that justification is out too.
Also, the T1 has a HARD anodized finish and the H1 is a softer regular anodizing...

Hard anodized meaning that it is glossier? I would rather have a more "mat" finish than glossy. Sorry bout spelling. I am in law enforcement, and don't have much use for night vision, however, I will check with our swat guys and see if they ever use it, cause I plan on applying soon.
You want the harder anodized surface. The sheen of your weapon will be the last thing on your mind when a threat presents itself. If it really matters to you that much you can coat it in any number of matte finishes after purchasing it. For the average civilian, there wont be a noticeable difference between the two optics, but if your department's picking up the bill... No reason to not take the T1.
Department is not paying for anything. If that were the case, I would have had them get the fun switch (select fire,3 rnd burst) option. But they would never spend the money I have on a noveske n4 low pro 10.5.
It will be my birthday present from my wife/mom/and dad combined, hopefully anyway.
I have found some h1's on ebay for $455 recently
Good price so long as it's legitimate. An H1 would probably suit your needs just fine unless SWAT wants you to have NVD-compatible optics. Otherwise, I'm sure you'd be happy with it.
