    My first build, M16a4 facsimile(ish)

Hey guys, I just finished my first build. I planned on building a reasonable facsimile of the m16a4 my brother uses in the marine corps. However, I made a few changes from the original design, and am quite pleased.

I want to thank all the forum members for providing an awesome environment to learn (and love) the AR platform. Thanks for all your advice, reviews, and data. It is immensely helpful.

    Specs:
    Cardinal Forge Upper
    BCM BCG
    BCM Gunfighter Charging Handle
    ARMS 40 BUIS
    KAC M5RAS w/kac pannels
    HBAR w/ A2 flash hider
UTG bipod (I orginally put a kac foregrip on her, but chose to switch to the bipod post-haste)
    Redimag gen1
    Tango Down Battle Grip
    Trijicon Dual Illuminated RMR
    Magpul BAD Lever
    KAC Teardrop trigger guard

What a beauty! ... and the rifle isn't bad either.

Thanks! I believe it's Adriana Lima. Defiantly an essential part of the man cave.

Ya know, that looks like a hell of a rifle. And this is from the guy with a "closer" M16A4gery. I seriously like that.

    Thank you for the compliment!

I am currently looking for a good scope to mount on it. The RMR is fantastic out to 200, but at three hundred not so much. May I ask what optic you've chosen for yours?

Why not try one of the Nikon M223 or Leupold Mark AR scopes. I think they are a decent scope for the money and depending on what your budget is you could have enough left over to buy a LaRue or ADM mount.

Thanks for the heads up on the Mark AR scopes. I really am digging the Mark AR 4-12x40mm Adj. Obj. T2.

I've looked at LaRue, but somehow have overlooked ADM. Their mounts look sweet.

Here is some more food for thought:

With a mount like that you could keep the RMR on the rifle. There are a few other types of mounts out there but I think most of them mount to the handguard and with the KAC not being FF it could play hell with your zero.

First question/comment that shit is bad arse. Can I ask how much, ballpark, you have in it (just the base rifle not all the ancillary stuff). I was thinking of building one to get a little more practice in then work allows.

Secondly, just out of curiosity why wouldnt you go with the acog?
...you can buy the same one we use..I'm not trying to steer you in that direction just curious.
