I couldn't possibly disagree more with not putting taller sights on. I "can" sight through the can on guns but for better accuracy and sight picture. There's no comparison between the factory sights I had on the HK45 and the taller Heinie's that are on there now. Distance shooting is also greatly enhanced with the sight over system as opposed to the sight through.

Besides HK has produced both the USP45CT and the HK45CT with taller sights as opposed to their standard non "T" model offerings, so why wouldn't a user owned pistol benefit from the same modifications?

If all you do is "point shoot" as opposed to sighted fire like titleist then I suppose it's not a big deal. And in any event you had to learn the impact zero with whatever sights came on the gun in the first place. To me it's no different than that.

Very much personal preference, I see your point of view too. I've shot many many many different suppressed guns in various settings with various sight configs, and i have not overall noticed a big difference either way. I also do not shoot pistols at some great distance either.

I shoot both eyes open and standard sights don't bother me for normal shooting with a can.

Shooting for groups and/or longer range I could see it being an issue.

I'll tell you. On some other pistols I've ran I've gotten different results.

On my P226R the standard sights don't seem to hit to a point of aim I prefer. However on a Glock 17 standard height Heinie's do a great job of hitting point on through a SWR Trident and Evo 9. That's at 15 yds or so.

Drifting back "on topic" (Sorry OP) I really like the suppressor height options that are available for the HK series of pistols. Original height are useable but I get better personal results with the #3960's

I am going to try and run to Bullseye's in the morning and put in an order. It is only money!
If you aren't armed when you take a dump in your own home then your opinion on what is a practical daily carry weapon isn't interesting to me.

Shot my friend's Ti-Rant .45 a while back and it straight up KICKED ASS!! I was simply blown away by its performance. The thing seriously rocks, man.

Here's some video of us shooting it, with and without Night Vision, and an IR Laser, too

I don't even own a .45 as of now, but I'm thinking about buying one of these cans now just to be prepared, lol!

I am glad you gents shot the berm with it a few times as some might think wtf were they doing, but I understood and found that was the only time I truly could hear just how suppressed the .45 was....outstanding

I think that must be why it works so well. I have never heard another .45 suppressor that was worth a crap. I have a friend with a Gemtech who loves to brag how quiet it is. He insists on people listening without hearing protection and you can just watch them wince in pain as they humor him.
