Best protective case for Droid X

    Hey!

My contract is up in a week and I can finally dump this Crapberry I have been saddled with.

I'm planning to move over to Verizon as they seem to have the best coverage in my area and pick up a Droid X. I have always had the best luck with Motorola phones, and have been coveting my buddy's Droid since he got it, so I figured I'd one up him with the X.

Anyway, I'll be in the market for some type of protective case for it as well and wondered what y'all recommended? Otter box? Something else?

Let me know what you use and recommend and what I should avoid.

    Thanks!

Touch screen typing is DA DEVIL!!!! Make sure you try before you buy. i had a crackberry storm and hated touch screen typing. I went with the Droid 2 for the full keyboard.

    Couple of points.

#1 if you can hold off a month or two do it. Motorola has a new Droid coming out that will be 4G (LTE) capable.

#2 You can used an Otterbox on a DroidX if you DONT have the extended battery. Problem is to get any useful life out of the DroidX you have to buy the extended battery.

The storm is ridiculous - unwise to judge touch screens by that thing. I got rid of mine 3 phones ago.

I just dumped my Blackberry for an iPhone. Not going back to to a "real" keyboard ever again.

Psst. Droid X with the Seidio Rugged holster combo. You'll never look back.

This has not been the case with my phone at all. I full days hard usage (GPS, web browsing, phone calls) will leave your standard battery in the red, but the stock battery is nowhere near as weak as people claim. (At least in my experience)

My sister in law ran over her X with her Jeep Commander. Works like a charm. No damage to the phone. The Otterbox Defender was pretty chewed up, but it did what a good case is designed to do, protect the phone.

Droid Bionic should be the heat.
Duo core processor, Video conferencing VOiP (Skpe/Tango etc), HDMI etc.

    CDMA only NOT GSM

My issue with aftermarket rugged cases, or any case at all for that matter, is that it will NOT fit in the DroidX vehicle cradle that I use all throughout the day...

The vehicle cradle gives me access to Google Maps, Pandora, etc... all while CHARGING securely mounted on my dash...

So instead, I have full insurance and just try to be careful with it...

The DroidX SWYPE texting feature will have you never looking back to typing little buttons ever again...

I easily get a full days work out of my DroidX with stock battery... I charge it at night... For the screen size and cpu power, what more can I expect... I'm happy.

Good point on the vehicle cradle. I just went out and bought a generic mount and used that to get around the fact that any case is going to prevent it from working. If you want to bring up the vehicle interface all you have to do is mount a thin, tiny magnet on your generic mount and volia, you get the vehicle interface.
