    The Latest Project

    I just fisnished this one last night, after getting all of the parts. Here's what we have;

    1. Daniel Defense lower with LPK, Tango Down grip and Magpul enhanced trigger guard.

    2. LMT 6 position tube, with Vltor EMOD stock.

    3. BCM M4 upper with feed ramps, Colt 6920 barrel with chopped and shaved FSB. LMT bolt and BCM M16 carrier. PRI gas buster charging handle. AAC flash hider.

    4. VTAC TRX Extreme Battle Rail 13" with rail sections added. KAC folding front sight and Daniel Defense sling mount.

Paint courtesy of Brownells (Coyote). There is no rear sight yet as that is still open for selection.

Looks good. What kind of optics do you plan on using?

Irons only. And the best thing is, that it cost me less to build this than an off the shelf Bushy.

    .

Real nice IG. I'm thinking about building a lightweight for my daughter for Christmas. I'd probably use the TRX guard too. Looks like the TRX is a homerun for Troy.

Thanks for posting the picture. Makes me feel good your bench looks almost as bad as mine....and I spent the entire day sorting and cleanng it up

From an armorer's perspective I recommend this rail. Here's why. It is very easy to install. In fact, it is the easiest rail I have installed aside from a KAC RAS/RIS.

If you can get past the FSB issue, all you have to do is tighten the proprietary barrel nut (wrench is included), make sure to line it up so you can run the gas tube into the upper and you are good.

Install the FSB again and then simply slide the rail into place and twist. Tighten the 2 screws and you are done. The good thing is that you can easily remove the rail itself if you need to clean it or replace or change rail segments. I was able to do the complete install in les than 15 minutes.

Here is a good look at the barrel nut when it is in place.

Nothing not to like with that build. That rifle is built the way I think they should be...whereas, you pick the best component by component for your need and overall build, selecting from only the most trusted mfg'rs in the game.

A sign of a builder is somebody who goes to that extra length to get the LMT tube and bolt, the BCM M4 flattop upper rec. and BCM f/a carrier, a colt barrel.

    That is my favorite part.

Like I said. If you can get over the FSB hump, then you are cruising on Easy Street. It is pretty lightweight all things considered.

Plus it looks like that 10-22 is patiently standing by for some attention...
