If someone is caught with drugs on their person, depending on the amount, we may detain them for PD, especially if its an amount that would be more for dealing than personal use. The Nevada Gaming Control Board is very strict about stuff like this, and clubs that aren't proactive can end up being fined or worse.

As for the video, it almost looks staged. Either way, that guy is a douchebag on a power trip. Videos like that, and the shit you see in movies, does help keep people in line though. You'd be amazed how many people think we're going to take them in the back and beat the shit out of them, when we're just walking them to the door for being too drunk, all because they saw Casino once.

I was thinking maybe the reason it was posted was the statute of limitations for whatever it was was up. BUT I guess these guys are too stupid to realize you don't post videos of your violent felonies on the internet, LOL.

Glad to see they are looking into it. I agree with whoever said that the guy recording should be charged as well.

Makes sense for a large casino with professional security. For small time bars though, I wouldn't trust your typical 'bouncer' to handle detaining a suspect properly.

Unless they're waving a bag of dope for all to see, I assume you'd have already delayed them and let actual LE frisk them in accordance with the 4th Amendment prior to finding the "amount that would be more for dealing". Remember, you're not law enforcement. Anything YOU turn up prior to LEO's being on the scene is unlikely to be admissible evidence.

In Nevada, misdemeanor crimes only fall under the citizens arrest law if they involve endangerment of public safety, and the arrestor must have witnessed the actual crime.

Private citizens may make arrests for ANY felony that was committed or attempted in the presence of the arresting citizen. You also do not need to have been a direct witness, as long as you have proof of the crime (e.g. a robber fleeing a from store where you didn't see the actual robbery).

If you've already contacted law enforcement and they request that you detain the subject, Nevada Revised Statue 171.132 and 171.134, permits you to aid the arresting officer for ANY crime, even prior to the arrival of the LEO. So CYA keep the law on speed dial

I remember a similar story from down here a while back. Few bouncers took some tourists in the back room of the club and really messed them up.

Realistically that bouncer could have beaten him to death in that bathroom. He should have never agreed to go in there.

I'm guessing the lawyers are lining up for the ensuing civil suit, which will probably pauper the bouncer for life and financially ruin his employer. This is why you hire professionals.

No, we empty their pockets in the holding room, under camera and audio surveillance, that's enough for Metro. Casino security has pretty broad powers to detain and search prior to LE arrival.

You're a good dude, and hopefully next year I'll make it to your club. I think we're staying at the same hotel again next year.
