Yeah, everyone was saying that all along except for a vocal minority on TOS... who probably didn't want a currently imported, viable sear host on the market since it would devalue their collections.
Their current nay saying seems to suggest that every MKE owner in the US should send the same letter to BATFE and receive the same response?
Ridiculous.
It's a regular FBI pack so it just dropped in. No mods to the grip housing or trigger box.
It runs 100%.
Yeah, I read the "letter only applies to that person" nonsense. But we had some naysayers here too, I went a couple pages with Coleslaw early in this thread. Sometimes I think people on internet gun forums are worse than the ATF with the BS they promote as fact.
So did you swap the MKE trigger box?

Hmm, seems like maybe there is an issue with the dimensions at the rear of your reciever. There is a post-86 factory fullsize mp5 at the SOT's shop where I used to work in grad school and it has been abused as a rental gun. It wears a factory German collapsible stock with no signs of wobble.
We are not immune from BS here (don't ask me for specific examples), and I am 100% in agreement.
I always knew where to get the work done (by one of the HK super-smiths, no less), so I've just been in popcorn mode this whole time waiting for an affordable sear.
(yeah... I might be waiting a long time!)
No, 100% swap. Still have the complete unit I might sell once I get through 5000 trouble free rounds or something...
There are no dimensional issues with my receiver. It's a brand new license-built gun (or it was when I got it).
The stock is not.
Did anyone ever rent it and drop it down an elevator shaft?
They all start to pivot on that point over time. Some of it is the end cap getting deformed and some of it comes from the forks loosening up.
Google up some pics of hard use guns and you can see it to varying degrees.

On the grip housing?
Yeah, I did have to do a little Dremel disk action to the inside of the ears, but not much at all.
S&H added some little spacers too when I sent it in for barrel work. It looks good!
Previously I had modified an SEF grip housing to remove the thumb shelf and re contour the grip, open the ears, and open the slot for the wider shelf on my (perfect) C93. That was a chore...
SteyrAug: seems to be a bit of disagreement between our HK smiths about removing that little piece of metal so we can use our f/a packs. Looks like it's all moving in the right direction. I passed on a few of the K's last year when there didn't seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel.
