Got to test fire the gun afew times

Now that I have taken the gun out afew times I wanted to say the gun shot great, although this is my first AR so I cant compare its performance to others, but it was very comfortable to shoot. I just put in an order for some pmags and YHM QDS sights "pics to come" but I have installed a YHM gas block.

Might I enquire as to why you put a shit gas block that screws into place rather than just keeping the original FSB?

Or taking the FSB and cutting it down and shaving it?

Im going to put flip up sights on it and the front one on the gas block I was unaware the screw on ones where shit, the gun shop recomended it I still have the pin on FSB.But I can see how the screw on one could cause reliablity issue if the screws come loose now that you bring it up though.

My opinion only. I would have left the in place. There really is no need to put a flip sight on it. The exception being when using certain magnified optics. If you are using a red dot, you won't have an issue.

You can still use a rear BUIS.

Sight picture "you can see the tilt "

    front in upright position

    Rear in upright position

    Both in upright position

    Front in lowered position

I would suggest you replace that gas block with one that has a Picatinny rail on it like THIS. Also, I would replace the BUIS with some Troy's. YHM is known to have many shortcomings similar to A.R.M.S.

    OP,

Remember when I advised against the screw on type gas block? Well now you know why.

Did you ever run into any issues with the M4 feed ramp/non M4 upper setup? did you ever pull any live ammo out of the chamber after firing to check and see if it's damaging the brass or bullet? I'm curious because the feed ramp setup isn't optimal, but may still work. However, it could be acusing issues you're not even aware of?

Have you considered reinstalling the FSB?
