I have had this Colt 9mm upper for years. I was going to use it for a .22 build but went with a flat top upper. I bought a Colt 9mm bbl and delta ring assembly from Brownells and put it together last week. I could not get two different pairs of round hand-guards to fit! i have struggled with tight hand-guards before but never like this. I think it is because the gas tube is not there to help align the top rail and the end cap spins a little. The MOE hand-guards went on with no problem I still need a bolt with the Glock cut. Anyone have a spare laying around! =)

I tried a set of Colt OEM handguards and could not get them to fit either. Anyone have an idea what I may have done wrong?

Assembled my first AR pistol today from a virgin Aero lower and a PSA 10.5 upper. The Shockwave brace and tube came in the mail today. The Shockwave brace is much better than the Sig IMHO. It is lighter and does not rotate on the tube. It is much lighter & thinner than the Sig also. Less expensive than the Sig for sure. Tube and brace plus shipping was less than $70. It's a winner. Going to give it a test tomorrow.

Right around 5.5lbs empty. Fun as heck to shoot. Definitely going to build an SBR now.

Very nice! What length barrel you running on that 9?

Also, if you had do do it over, would you go with the lower built for the Glock mags or one of their other offerings with the straight(colt/uzi style) mags?

It's a 5.5 barrel. I'd go with the Glock mags every day. I have about 25 mags for it, they're easily available, and cheap. I could kit out for a carbine/pistol match or bug out kit, and use all the same mags.
