    NM - OC gone bad.

Brief synopsis... Man was OC'ing in a restaurant illegally, you can not OC in New Mexico in a place that serves or sells alcohol under their current law. Wingnut claims to be DEA, he's not, and attempts to disarm OC guy. OC guy loses control of pistol during wrestling match and both are arrested.

Police said Jose Garcia was eating and had a gun on his belt when another customer, Christopher Torres, saw Garcia’s gun. Torres, who was pretending to be a law-enforcement officer, went after Garcia, fearing that he would rob the place, according to police.
Situational awareness and practicing retention techniques would've definitely helped this guy out.

If somebody went for my gun then I would be in fear for my life...

Awareness, retention, and a good comprehension of the laws would have helped the good guy out.

An illegal attempt to disarm you of a firearm represents lethal force. Mr. Fake DEA Agent is lucky he's not dead.

That's why getting training in weapon retention is so important. It's also why open carry is not optimal.
