OP, nice post and review. Can you give an estimate on the range to the house in the photos??? Just want to get a perspective. Thanks.

    My MTAC shipped today!
    Better known as "The CAC"!

Never knew SWFA was located in Red Oak, Texas. Going to have my scope delivered today around 2ish. Was shipped about 4pm yesterday.

Will put up some pictures and a quick review when I receive it. Won't have a range report for a while with school about to start back up and working more hours now.

Just got the word that my order was shipped a few hours ago. This is good news, as I was starting to think it would be another case of waiting for months. I am excite

Anyone got theirs yet that can throw a few pictures up? Most I have been able to find is a pic of just the optic, none mounted. Curious so I can start freeing rail space, etc.

got mine yesterday. good quality, very good glass, "nucular" bright reticle, good eyebox, etc., etc...

the only complaint I might have is that I would have liked some vertical and/or horizontal posts out past the central reticle. they wouldn't have to be lit. just something else out there...

overall I'm very pleased for the price. if it was $100 more and I had to add a mount, cattail, and covers, well... that starts getting into the price range of the SWFA 1-4SS HD kit that included all that for $799. this might not be a fair comparison as the SS is altogether a step up from the Burris but at the price I paid for the Mtac, it's a solid bargain...

    Mounted on the BCM

Mounted just in the LaRue LT-104

Quick review since I have not been able to shoot it yet. I leave mine at x1.5 since at x1 I can see my front sight and light. The reticle is really nice and easy to put on target. Very clear glass and barely any fisheye effect at the low level. Changing mag power is kinda hard, so a cat-tail might be in my future if I can find one for it. The illumination is very bright at the high setting. I keep it around the 4 or 5 area. Don't really have much else to say since I have not shot with it yet, but I will be doing that on Friday!

The total amount I spent for the combo was 557.79, and that includes Tax and Shipping. I had almost 60 bucks in just Tax, but that's what I get for buying from Texas companies and living in Texas.

To me, compared to the almost 1,000 dollar Trijicon combo I was going to buy from LaRue Tactical, this set up was worth it. Gives me almost 500 extra dollars to spend on ammo and other goodies.

If you are looking for a cat-tail consider this guy

I too just received my MTAC and contacted him regarding the cat-tail. He said he will have them as soon as he gets his hands on an MTAC.

I ordered the Tac30 tail from him while the scope was on backorder. I explained to Charlie what i did and he offered to exchange my Tac30 tail for the MTAC one when he gets them.

That's good service in my opinion and I like to reward/recommend folks like him.

    Thanks shooter521 for the review.

Thanks for the heads up on the MTAC deal Singlestack Wonder.

I had already ordered a TAC30 from another company but went ahead and purchased the MTAC to see which one I wanted or both. I haven't shot either yet.

The TAC30 I received is at least 20% brighter on high than the MTAC. Both will wash out in bright sunlight. I'm thinking I'll be keeping the MTAC anyway just because I like the turret adjustments better than the push button.

I'll probably be putting the TAC30 up in equipment exchange if anyone is interested. I bought it with the PEPR mount and Burris Fastfire II for $496 shipped. It came assembled.

Sounds great. Could be something for 3-gun. What's the difference between this and the XTR?
