    Bad choice on the Glaser Safety Slugs and birdshot. When you have violent encounter, you shoot to kill. Wounding leaves to many options open for them to kill you.

    I could load the .223 with frangible ammo too but thats just not what its for.
    Frang ammo is also a poor choice (generally speaking). Go with a quality Hornady, SPEER, Federal, BH's product and you will be MUCH better off.

    I understand. We all started somewhere. Please read the ballistics forum on here and get some training. This will help with the "If I miss where will the bullet go" mindset.

    Birdshot won't go through walls. Unfortunately, it won't go through home invaders either.

    Getting hit with birdshot is an unpleasant experience. But the idea isn't to force the bad guy with an unpleasant choice, it's to stop him. If he knows what's good for him, he'll cut and run after the first shot, even if it misses him. But if we could say with any certainty that he knows what's good for him, he wouldn't be a criminal.

    Actually not that bad, from 5.6 lbs to about 8 lbs, Still lighter than my other AR.
