    Good optic for 10/22?

Building a Tactical Solutions 10/22 and want to get a good scope. I don't want to spend more than $400. My friend is selling a leupold mark ar 1.5x4x20 for pretty cheap. Would that be a good choice? I like the size better than a traditional rim-fire scope. Just looking for a good solid scope for this build.

Since its a rimfire, i would get one with an adjustable objective. Personally, i would save some $$$$ and just pick up a cheaper scope. I had a Tasco 6-24x40mm on my 10/22 build and it was nice (glass was good and it worked), also had a centerpoint 3-9x32mm on another 10/22 and it worked too.

I just couldnt justify putting something like a leupold on a .22lr....

EDIT: i forgot one brand that is popular in the .22 community, checkout Mueller scopes. NOTE: i've never used one, but from all the reviews i've read (i was in your spot about 2yrs ago) they are gtg for rimfires.

    +1,,, ^ ^ ^

Adjustable objective is a nice option on a rimfire scope. Check out the Mueller APV's. Unless your dead set on spending a lot on a rimfire scope.

I like a true 1x on a 10/22, only because it is one of the more popular guns to shoot up close, even when plinking.

I went with the inexpensive 1-3x Weaver. If I were to do it again, I'd probably get the new 1-4x Burris TAC30.

Nice Ruger. I gave the kids 10-22s for Christmas one year...what stock do you have on that rifle? McMillan makes one similar to that.

    Thanks guys.

Yes, the stock is a Boyd's "Tacticool". It is hands down the most comfortable 10/22 stock I've owned. I wish they made one for centerfire rifles, especially for the price!

tasco wordclass 4-16x40, paralax adjustment. Reminds me of the mueller, but cheaper. I like high magnification on the 10/22 for the small targets at long ranges. Paralax adjustment is a must have on a 10/22 optic IMO.
