    I am dumbfounded by the dude who created a single shot mid length rifle out of a carbine barrel. I would have thought anyone with any mechanical understanding and zero m4 platform knowledge would still figure it was a no go when they got the rifle apart....It to go shoot it and it not cycle and blow the handguards off..... Wow

    I'm convinced that the mid length idiot was a prank.

    NO ONE could really be that big of a ****ing idiot.... right.

    ====================================

    I knew things like that would happen when we started making kids wear bicycle helmets, no fighting in school, giving water breaks during football practice, etc.
    Nowadays, there's hardly no way to naturally thin out the guys that are "a couple of french fries short of a Happy Meal"! Oh well....

    But maybe it's just me...

    I don't need some fancy CNC machine to flute barrel blanks! All I need is some time, some beer, and my trusty Dremel.
    What was the story behind this picture? I've seen it a ton of times, but I never got the story on how it happened.

    Somebody decided that they wanted a fluted barrel but didn't want to buy one. They looked at the barrel and then looked at their Dremel and The Good Idea Fairy touched them in the head and they went for it.

    I'm not so sure based upon the fact that the guy was a stone cold douche. I think he was a drunk bubba who had a "hold my beer moment"...

    The best part of the whole the thread was that he took it out to the range and shot it and then walked away wondering why it would only shoot one round and not cycle rounds...

    So far...so good. None of my posts have ended up on this thread.

    My biggest retard move was shooting soft points (it was all I could find locally and I really wanted to shoot my new rifle) through my JP LRP-07 and wondering why it wouldn't function properly. I was relatively new to ARs at the time and had never come across this before.

    I was also a little bit scared to shoot the first complete rifle I built (300 BLK). I decided to purchase go/no go gauges just to minimize the chance of something really bad happening.

    Wow!
    Half of the posters in that thread think it's great.
