    It probably aids bump firing.

I do not understand the rubber coating. He never mentioned any potential benefits he saw. Maybe he just did it to do it?

I just finished my latest build. I wanted a fluted barrel but the prices for those things are outrageous. It's a total rip-off, so I decided to save myself a bucket of cash by fluting the barrel myself.

I don't need some fancy CNC machine to flute barrel blanks! All I need is some time, some beer, and my trusty Dremel.

I'm having a hard time believing this. It's incredible.

Maybe someone told him about the split thumb grip and he thought it was for the shooting hand?

    Red face Bryco-Jennings "reliability"

ALWAYS good for a larf or two.

Re: How "unsafe" is (Bryco) Jennings?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've had a 9mm jennings for about a month now and it works as it should. Fires every time with no jams. Only went thru a dozen or so clips of ammo. It was used and I'm sure had much more then that thru it already. I have a friend that has had a 380 since graduating college in the 80's and loves it. Shoots it regularly with no problems.
I may be wrong but I heard that firearms had to do a 5 foot drop test to avoid firing if dropped. They had to pass this test to be saleable in the US. I believe the jennings is manufactured in Irvine,California, it least mine is listed as.

Any brand of pistol can have a defect. My colt goldcup 45 had a front sight that was loose enough to fall off from the factory. This gun was many time more expensive then my jennings. Never had one blowup but don't want to either.

I believe a good many problems are from ignorance like loading a 9mm in a 380. Not cleaning, using hot ammo like P+ or not inspecting for frame cracks or a mllion other issues that coulds occur in any brand.
Soooo... it was all those Crips & Bloods jamming 9mm rounds in .380 guns that gave them such a BAD reputation!

I was talking with a police officer from Atlanta last year who said he survived a shoot-out with a couple gang members because the one who got a drop on him had 3 calibers of ammo in his .40S&W pistol. Luckily for him, the round in the chamber was an improper caliber so when he pulled the trigger it went click instead of bang, giving the police enough time to draw his own weapon and fire while this guy tried to remedy his malfunction. He said they see guns loaded with the wrong calibers fairly regularly with people who are carrying a gun they bought illegally. I guess people at gun stores on average help more than it seems.
