The next, next M4C fun shoot

Let's start setting up the next M4C fun shoot. I am thinking mid-May or June. Maybe Gitmo can advise us of what days are available.

Maybe at the next shoot we could spend more time with the pistols. For most of us, our pistols are our primary system. Here are some things we could do:

    Concealed carry draw
    Shooting while moving
    Drawing while moving
    Malfunction drills
    Barricade work with the pistol
Alternate positions (rollover/urban prone, kneeling, squatting, etc.)
    Mozambique/NSR drills

We could also go into some more advanced stuff on the rifle:
    Dot failure drills
    Rollover prone/urban prone
    Malfunction drills
    Shoulder transitions

Let's get a list going of what you guys want to do, and I can start putting together a training plan and find specific drills to cover that stuff.

Central Whidbey Island. Gitmosmoke hosts us at the Central Whidbey Island Sportsman's Association range.

It's a great facility. Plus Gitmo brings BBQ pork.

If I make the trip down from Vancouver would anyone be able to lend me some hardware? I'll bring my own ammo and everything.

I have some hardware you can use. Either a DDM4 or a Colt 6520.

Wicked thanks that would be awesome, I'll have to see if I'm going to be this side of North America this summer but I've subscribed to this thread so I'll keep an eye on this event.

    Lightbulb

I'll be there no matter when or where unless a family member is dying.

    Suggestions:

While it's understood that I need more dry-fire practice at home, I'd ask that we incorporate more transition to secondaries in the drills. I've found that I'm used to firing and reloading one weapon over and over (due to most of my practice shooting at a static range) that it's not even close to intuitive when I run dry in a dynamic setting.

Also helpful for me would be more emphasis on reloading using cover when the barricades are up.

Thinking back about me (and a few others) standing in an open field, reloading my primary and not being called on it makes me cringe. Just sayin'.
