Also, there are stickied threads in the AR GD and AR Technical subforums marked "Knowledge Base Threads." Work your way through them as needed for a trove of baseline info.

This is another good link to get started ===> LINK
It is about "upgrading" a Bushmaster that one of our sponsors, (G&R Tactical) does before selling lower-tier AR's.

There are several other threads explaining how to reduce the likelihood of a failure of a lower tier AR, just keep looking.

Gents, lets be sure to remember that regardless whether or not there is a new and updated chart in the works we will still have to contend with

That's the problem with the site, always pushing the left side chart. Unless you are in military, law enforcement, maybe boarder police, why would you need a 100% mil-spec weapon? Both of mine are not close to the 100% However they due currently meet my operational needs, and function when needed..I currently have no particular brand, most will send rounds down range.

Rob I do have your first chart, and thanks for the work you put into.

Why the hell would anyone want anything that isn't as damn near 100% as it could be? The "you don't need..." attitude is the same kind of piss poor logic used by the anti gun crowd. If I can have 100%, that's what I want and I won't settle for anything less.

The simple answer to your question is this: Whatever a firearm is used for be it hunting, competition, what have you, its inherent, primary purpose will always be to defend human lives.

Your M&P will probably work just as good as a Colt, LMT, BCM, Noveske or DD but the fact that the comparison is even being made says everything that needs to be said.

If you are making the argument that your weapon works "just as good" as the best then your life probably does not depend on your weapon, or you are ignorant.

    Ask yourself this:

Is parachute B as reliable as parachute A? If the answer is "very likely" are you going to jump out of a plane wearing parachute B?
