    POF, LWRC, DD, COLT

i have the chance to buy either a POF (416), LWRC (m6a2), DD (m4 v5), or Colt (6940). i am having a hard time deciding, and i couldn't find the comparisons using the search button. i have selected these brands because thats what i can order through my distributors, and i would like to keep it simple and do it that way. i know some are piston and some are DI, but i am looking for a comparison between each brand, and user experience with each. 5.56 only, no 6.8 or .308. thanks in advance.

i really like the lwrc.....maybe thats a bad thing let me know

Most on here will steer you to the DD. Haven't fired one myself, but by all accounts they put out a damn fine weapon and it's probably what I'd suggest too given those choices.

I have a Colt 6940 with which I've been very happy, but it has some downsides (and to some dealbreakers) namely: carbine length gas system, 7" monolithic rail (which many regard as too short), and worst of all it is difficult to service yourself due to a proprietary barrel nut. That said, again, I've been very happy with mine.

I don't think you'll see much good said on this forum about the POF or LWRC...or pistons in general.

I dont know if your going to find alot of those rifles compared because as you said some are DI and some are Piston. I myself currently have a DD UGR V5 and its awesome!!!, I have shot the POF and I think it a nice rifle but extremely heavy for what it is. As for the LWRCi and Colt I can not say because I have never shot them, I have handled them before but never had the chance to get them out and test them. If you really want to keep it simple I would go the DI rout because of its simplicity and in that regard I would go DD all the way just my opinion but I can assure you that you will not be dissapointed with DD

Piston is over rated. Out of those four, my choices would be:

    1. DD M4
    2. Colt LE 6920 (not the 6940)

Of those choices I would buy the DD or the Colt 6940.

Apparantly I am the only person on the forum who likes the Colt 6940.

Nope, despite all the naysayers I still think mine is great. To each their own, I guess.

LOL, I run mine like a used up porn star during a gang bang! Hard and fast! No worries with it on my end. I actually just sold another 6940 upper that I got as collateral on a loan. It was pretty much NIB. Now someone else can appreciate its reliability/durability.

just out of curiosity what is bad about the LWRC or the POF, and what brands should i look into if i want a gun that is similar to that. i like the 6940 and have shot one. it was bad ass, i also shot a DD V1 yesterday, and it was great as well.
