I did a century in Moab, UT last Saturday with Team In Training. It was raining and chilly to start (in the desert) then only got up to the high 70s. I didn't turn in the time I was shooting for, kind of pissed about that. I think the chill sucked some energy out of me as well.

While climbing I felt like I had no power. This ride has a climb that gains 3000 ft in 7 miles. It's a bitch.

Stupid me, I swapped out my saddle and seat post the weekend before the ride. Turns out I was in too much of a hurry and had the saddle 1 cm too high.

Oh well, I got it done. No crashes due to the wet road coming down off the mountain, no mechanical issues and no one on my team had anything worse than a flat tire. Our little group raised over $56K for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. All chapters raised over $481K for the event. Not bad.

Good for you. That's a lot of money for a very good cause. I find that Hammerheed drink helps keep me going during long rides.

Did 23mi yesterday, around the county. Felt good but should've eaten that ZoneBar at the turnaround point...

Thinking about doing an evening ride for about 13mi tonight.

Going to start riding again once my knee heals up (dislocated knee cap). Got to get ready for a fitness test at 5100ft, may not be that high, but i'm sure it will be for this guy...

I am a runner. I decided to start triathlon training a few months back (I am still questioning that decision). The triathlon training has brought me back to cycling after almost a 20 year vacation from the sport. I am glad that I have made this move because it has motivated me to ride again, the swimming I am not that crazy about. I was a competitive athlete in my college years, but at 42 I believe my overall fitness is the best that it has ever been.

Of course there are also Schwalbe Marathon Supreme tires with the reflective sidewalls, or one can just buy a roll of 3M SOLAS tape and apply it to the frame in strips, and your helmet, and the rim gap between the braking surface and the spokes (strips are better imho than a solid circle, as the strips 'show' the rolling motion).

Well i'm back on the bike. Changed my weight workout up to more circuit style (high intensity) and started riding again. Im really trying to improve my cardio and reduce bf right now.

Just doing a nice little 12mi loop with some great climbing (its mostly climbing lol) I'll work my way up to doing about 3 or 4 circuits.

Gotta get the cardio up for an academy.

Anyone else doing some winter riding?

Yeah, I try to get 15-17mi in the evening, 3x a week and a longer ride on Sunday. DH got 78mi in last Saturday on a long ride. Family committments limit the time either of us can ride on any given day. Between committments and potential water falling from the sky over the next couple days here, it is beginning to look like I will not get much if any riding done this week.

I used to be a huge roadie. I'm taking a break from that right now and giving running a shot.

Some eye candy of my rigs:
