I interested in seeing some real reports from the field on the bigger PSTs...so hurry up and get it working, already!

With the exception of mine and a few others on the 1-4, there are very few actual shooting reviews on the PSTs . What gives - is everyone a closet collector? Spring has sprung already. (This is not directed at the op, btw.)

Me and Bimmer did talk in PMs and are on the same page.

I was going to do some other non-mounted testing last weekend but that got delayed due to work and some other issues. I have 3 days off this weekend so I'm going to try and get my rear in gear and do what I can by Sunday.

As far as getting it mounted and tested that way, believe you me I want to get it on and do so. Sadly still, the rifle it's going on is still on pre-order but should be shipping in the next few weeks (so I hear) and at that time people can expect an update with a non out of the box/table top review.

Thanks all the same to whomever has read it regardless though!

Well this took some time so my apologies for that.

Today was a nice sunny day and I had the free time (finally) to try this so I set the scope outside in the sun for about an hour, took it and put it in the freezer for a while, and I experienced no fog at all on either lens. Took it back out in the sun after the scope had been chilled and it didn't fog then either.

    So it passed that test.

As far as the battery I was only able to leave it on roughly 18 hours (on the max setting) and then had to rob it for my Aimpoint T-1 since it went dead but it was still looking bright on 10 after that amount of time.

I get a chance to make it out and get a fresh battery this week I'll restart my battery test.

The gun it is going on has finally started shipping but my pre-order hasn't been processed just yet but in the next few weeks I hope to get it, get the PST mounted, and come back with mounted results as long as work doesn't bone me anymore than it has lately. Bear with me!

    Vortex CS

I picked up a PST 2.5-10x three weeks ago used from a guy. It looked new, no marks, etc. Upon inspection I saw that there was debris inside the scope's body, visible at low setting but anything above 5x and it disappeared.

I contacted Vortex up and they immediately sent me a return shipping label and had me send it back to them. Turn around time from my door and back was about two weeks. Vortex disassembled the scope, removed the debris (no idea what it was), cleaned and serviced the scope before returning it.

Scope came back with the illumination on at 10 power, I figure based on the shipping notification and time to my door it was on for a minimum of 4 days. It still looks very bright, we'll see how much longer it last. Vortex also sent out a new set of scope covers for no charge. All around great customer service, great communication. I'm waiting for a few more parts for the rifle it will sit on so no details about how it performs, but Vortex has definately earned some praise with the way they handled the problem and warranty.

Err...this took a while but after changing my mind on what I wanted to put it on multiple times I finally settled on something.

No real mounted testing done yet. I did this late evening last night and only had enough time to get it sighted in before I could no longer see anything. I do have 14.3 Mils of up elevation left to play with after getting it sighted in.

I have to work a bunch of OT the next few weeks but next time I make it to the range I'll do more testing.

In the two months it was just laying around (yeah I'm lazy), I can say I did fog test this (let it set out in the sun a few hours and threw in the freezer for a while afterwards) and neither lens fogged.

Also, the illuminated reticle has been left on the 10 setting since April 15th and is STILL burning bright.

    More to come.

I was curious if there were any updates on this scope? I’m kicking around the idea of selling my TA33 and picking up this one.
