Will the case needed to be secured with a lock? If not I would suggest getting this soft case hopefully it would fit your long guns.

I was set on the hard case for no particular reason but the Diamondback looks promising. It seems a bit pricey. Is Tricon making it for Diamondback? I do like that it says it would fit 2 carbines which I could measure the shotty length to make sure it works.

Thanks for the linky. Anyone have suggestions with the Hardigg Field pak?

If the Hardigg cases have better clasps then it is $ well spent. I love Pelican cases, but I break the clasps on them al the time. I keep duct tape in one when traveling for when they break. I have also had the black cases lid warp from sunlight. Pelican has great customer service and always replaces them without issue.

I recommend getting the 472-DW3200 Fieldpak, a very high quality case made by Eagle. It will fit your long guns and extra pouches.

Anyone have any opinions on whether the Pelican Storm cases sold today are as good as they were before Pelican bot Hardigg?

I hope so - I ordered a Pelican Storm 3300 in Olive Drab from Midway today http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct...ber=2603121996. I had narrowed it down between that and the SKB and went with the storm partly based on the opinions in this thread - I hope they still stand.

I'll report my opinions after I get it and can take a good look at it.

The SKB I had compared it to: http://www.amazon.com/SKB-Large-Doub...=cm_cr_pr_pb_t

If you're open to a soft case, I've always been happy with my soft long gun cases from 5.11.

I have one that's a 50" for sporting guns, and another that I believe is the 42" for my AK (and sometimes my AR). I've found that I can fit two guns even in the models that aren't designated "double rifle" - the regular ones don't have that divider, but they do have velcro straps to hold the guns in place. I can easily fit two shotguns in the longer case, but two AK/AR type long guns are much more difficult to fit w/o the "double rifle" option because of pistol grips, optics etc.

If you're not in a rush, keep an eye out they go on closeout fairly often. I didn't pay more than $50 or $60 for either of mine.

Opticsplanet.com has Storm cases with Filed Pak. They ship directly from Storm. Shipping takes a few weeks.

I ordered mine from Opticsplanet.com too. I also got the field pak with my case. My case came in last week: like it so far.

I was comparing it to my other Pelican case and I noticed that my Storm case has better latches; they are smoother to snap shut and feel very secure.

I work with Pelican at work, and own some Storm.
They are both made by the same people, but I prefer the Storm latches, despite the fact that the Pelican polymer feels tougher.

    Going to look into starlite

That field pak looks nice - so that fits inside the hard case? Do you have to take all the foam out, or just the middle piece, or what in order to fit the fieldpak?
